Audio Choices

  1. How you made each sound
    1. what program? What location (if recorded audio)
      1. Door - I used my front door and simply tried to open the door when locked vs unlocked.
      2. Keys - Using my car keys I picked them up from a table as if I was getting ready to leave.
      3. Checkpoint/Dying & Moving/Falling Platform - Created using Bfxr and some tuning to get to the right sound.
      4. Bird/Fire Background - These sounds were taken from OpenGameArt.Org with the bird noises being created by Koertes.
  2. Why you designed the sound like that (have a reason!)
    1. Door:  I wanted a realistic sound so I used my front door to my apartment since it has more weight to it.
    2. Keys:  I used a key ring with plenty of keys since in games the player usually has a ton of different keys.
    3. Checkpoint: I wanted a quick yet noticeable sound since players typically use a checkpoint twice to make sure their progress has saved.
    4. Bird: Seeing a bench and plants reminded me of the park so naturally birds seemed like the right fit.
    5. Fire: I wanted to show the danger of the killing floor so I choose fire which fit the red and yellow colors as well.
    6. Moving/Falling Platform: Since the platform seems to be moving on its own I chose sounds that are more sci fi in sound.
    7. Dying: I went with a sound that plays the death noise followed by a game over sound all in one.
